“United we stand, divided we fall.” – Aesop
It was fourteen September’s ago that terrorists destroyed the World Trade Center. In a single moment, everything changed. I can still remember walking into the school lobby as a junior in high school only to find teachers, counselors, principles, students and parents staring at a TV screen in utter silence as we witnessed a second plane strike the twin towers.
While fear immediately slipped into our minds, it was the days, weeks, and months later that faith became louder than fear. It was almost as if every American became a New Yorker. Skin color was no longer an issue. Political differences were put on hold. It was a time in our country, at least from my point view, where we were united. So today on 9/11, I don’t just think about the tragedy, I remember the moments when Americans united.
Where do we go from here?
Let’s stop being baited by the political propaganda that is dividing us by hate, fear, race, religion, sexual preference, etc. and start uniting in love. Believe it or not, it’s possible to love those that you disagree with. Don’t believe me? My wife thinks vegetables are good…I disagree, but I still love my wife. I choose to overlook our differences and focus on what I love about her.
What are you looking for in those to disagree with? The good or the bad?Remember: You’ll always find what you’re looking for…

Let today serve as a reminder of all that once was good and could be again. Let’s Stand UNITED!!
