Stop. Drop. Roll.

I’ve heard it said throughout my life that insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over ad expecting different results. While we all know it is dumb to keep repeating the same mistakes over and over, the reality is that we all still do it. Last night I spent some quality time reflecting on my actions. Notice the key words in that last sentence: MY OWN. I was not looking at anyone else. I simply wanted to evaluate MYself ,ย MY thoughts, andย MY actions.

As I began to just have some alone time with myself and God, I came to a quick analysis of myself. Here is what I realized:

I expend my energy fighting battles where there are no rewards. I let worry and anxiety overwhelm me about situations that are either hypothetical, or outside of my control. I blow my dilemmas out of proportion until they seem larger than life, and impossible to solve.

Have you found yourself in a similar situation before? Here’s the solution: Stop. Drop. Roll. And yes, I just went old school fire drill on you!

Stopfocusing on yourself. The more you’re focused on you, the less time you’ll spend with Jesus (See John 3:30)

Drop whatever it is that is holding you back

Rollwith what you got. Stop spending so much time in your own little world and be grateful for the blessings right in front of you. Value the people in your life. God has placed them there for a reason. He has also removed some for a reason.

The reality is that weโ€™ve got places to go, and bigger things to do, so STOP, DROP, AND ROLL!
